Notes:
-
Go to Citrix download site to download the correct version of ICA client
-
Note that I am running Ubuntu on a x86 platform. If your Ubuntu runs on ARM platform, you will need to download the ARM version. The clients require OpenMotif 2.2.x. I will explain how to get it later
-
I saved the installation package on my desktop. You can save it to another directory
-
Extract to a directory.
-
Open the directory which contains the extracted files. install.txt contains installation instructions
-
start a terminal to install the ICA client
-
navigate to the directory that contains the extracted files
-
run setupwfc to install. You don't have to be a privileged user to install. However you will need to use sudo command to install as a privileged user in order to enable desktop (PNAgent) integration.
-
follow the on screen instructions
-
Press enter to accept the default installation location
-
installation completed
-
Test ICA client
-
It didn't run. Why? Remember the openmotif requirement listed on the client download page? motif library is not included in the default installation. Let's install it next
-
search and install open motif libaray using Synaptic Package Manager
-
finished open motif installation. Let's launch ICA client again
-
I will show you how to use this client in a separate video
